As one of the cult favorite neoclassical/ambient black metal projects, the duet Nachtreich have been known for their low-fi and minimalistic productions and a crafted and even primordial sound that blends theatric orchestra and raw black metal together. Their first demo, titled Von Dornen und Selbstmord, perfectly demonstrated Nachtreich's unique aesthetic regarding loss and melancholy: the tragic mood was evoked through the simplistic yet contagious beauty flown through the tears of viola would always drag listeners back into the morose dreamland Nachtreich inhabited.
