Azadi - Les orbes (2023)

Born from a luminous artistic encounter between Camille Saglio and Madeleine Cazenave in 2016, Azadi offers the sounds of piano, oud, n'goni and sansula a journey to the shores of unexplored lands. Release of “Les orbes” on Anaya/Cristal Records.
Azadi means "Freedom" in Kurdish, musical freedom to summon the years of classical studies of the pianist Madeleine Cazenave, freedom to embark his piano on the Orient Express in the company of the soft bass guitar of Gurvan l'Helgoualc'h. Azadi are the electronic rails of Xavier Pourcher's machines taking us to Constantinople in an imaginary Orient. Finally Azadi is the ever higher voice of Camille Saglio which would overhang the banks of the Bosphorus, playing with the separation of the continents like the meaning of the words of an invented language. From jazz to Arabic singing, from electro to classical, from a voice of high-counter to the deep frequencies of the bass, Azadi invites you to explore the great spaces where sometimes the cinema or Paul Éluard take the floor...
