Yves Paquet - A Decent Man (2023)

Yves Paquet was born and grew up in Brazil during the first years of his life, where he created his own sound. He has collaborated with Brazilian stars Alok and Vintage Culture and international acts Barely Alive and Airplane.

He has lived in the Hoge Venen since his childhood and also in Belgium he has already had a great collaboration with The Subs for the dance classic UFO. His debut album Every Now And Then was released two years ago, on which he made infectious soul and R&B. For his new record he returns to his childhood. As a child he went on holiday to Ireland or Brittany every year and along the way he listened to the great folk singers who became an important source of inspiration for him.

A Descent Man has therefore become a kind of modern folk record that Yves recorded with Hans Olsson (José González, Anna Von Hausswolff…) behind the controls. With this record, Paquet wants to return to the essence with his voice, acoustic guitar, banjos and strings. He received support during the recordings from Iskander Moens, the Mexican-Belgian violinist Renato Marquez, guitarist Steven Vergauwen (Shtevil) and the German multi-instrumentalist Felix Duczek.
