Montréal Guitare Trio - Meninas (1999)

On this, their debut recording on ATMA, the Montreal Guitar Trio play the music of d'Egberto Gismonti, Ennio Morricone and Astor Piazzolla, with extreme passion, energy and irresistible enthusiasm. Formed at the beginning of 1998, all three members are graduates in performance from University of Montreal and individually have received a number of Canadian performance awards. Warmly received by audiences, the TGM has made a noticeable entry onto the Québec musical scene, successfully combining an excellent ensemble sound with an attractive and original repertoire. Performing for the most part their own arrangements, they command a secure technique, an assured sense of harmony and a lively melodic style.
