The Anaga Classics label has just published the CD Entreguerras, a live that includes the recital that the soprano Raquel Lojendio and the pianist Aurelio Viribay offered in May 2022 at the Fundación Juan March in Madrid with a program made up of twenty songs by ten Spanish composers created between 1918 and 1939, the so-called "interwar" period.
The period of time between the two great world wars was characterized, both in Spain and in the rest of Europe, by a great artistic and cultural effervescence whose fruits in the concert song genre are shown in this recording.
The composers Óscar Esplá, Jesús García Leoz, Jesús Guridi, Joaquín Nin, Joaquín Turina, Emiliana de Zubeldia, Evaristo Fernández Blanco, Manuel Palau, María Rodrigo and Fernando Obradors join here poetic texts by Luis de Góngora, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Rafael Alberti, Cristina de Arteaga, Juan Paredes, Estanislao Alberola, Juan Lacomba, Francisco Vighi, the Álvarez Quintero brothers and of popular origin, giving rise to a fascinating combination of music and poetry that represents a stimulating journey through some of the most important aesthetic trends. that shaped musical creation in the 20th century.
