Riccardo Cimino - Dario Fo, l'ultimo Mistero Buffo (2023)

Dario Fo: l'ultimo Mistero Buffo, a documentary directed by Gianluca Rame that chooses an original narrative key and takes as its cue an unprecedented event: the latest staging of Mistero Buffo, in Rome on 1 August 2016, the farewell to the scenes of its author and interpreter, the Nobel prize winner Dario Fo, who died only two months later.
The Master smiles thinking of the many companies that represent his works all over the world. In Istanbul where the comedy "Claxon Trombette e Pernacchi" is staged in Kurdish and in Buenos Aires where "Muerte accidental de un ricotero" adapts the text on Pinelli to talk about the case of Walter Bulacio, assassinated by the police in 1991.

The film follows the actors in a continuous confrontation in which Dario Fo's theater becomes a space for reflection on the human condition and the distortions of power, overcoming linguistic, geographical and cultural differences.

The documentary makes use of story and screenplay written by the director with Piero D'Onofrio, editing by Piero Lassandro, photography by Antonello Sarao, direct shooting by Domenico Rotiroti, original music by Riccardo Cimino. With the executive production of Barbara Meleleo, the doc is produced by Sandro Bartolozzi, a Clipper Media, Luce Cinecittà, CTFR production in collaboration with Rai Documentari under the patronage of the Fo Rame Foundation, with the support of the Lazio Region - Regional Fund for cinema and audiovisual and with the support of the Directorate-General for Cinema and Audiovisual.
