‘The score by Chris Roe adds dramatic heft to the film’ - Loud and Clear
It’s 1988. Thatcher’s government are about to pass a law stigmatizing gays and lesbians, forcing Jean, a PE teacher, to live a double life. But when a new student arrives and threatens to expose her, Jean is pushed to extreme lengths to keep her job and her integrity.
Blue Jean ist ein britischer Spielfilm von Georgia Oakley aus dem Jahr 2022.
Chris Roe is a composer and multi-instrumentalist, combining an acoustic/orchestral palette with a contemporary edge, and has worked on productions ranging from independent feature films, TV series and feature documentaries.
Chris’ film work has included Blue Jean, winning the audience award at the Venice Film Festival, as well as previously scoring BAFTA-winning film After Love, receiving a nomination for an Ivor Novello Award and winning Best Original Score at Les Arcs Film Festival.
In the world of TV, Chris recently scored Jed Mercurio’s NTA Award-winning series Trigger Point, and he is currently working with Hartswood FIlms, the makers of Sherlock, on a new six-part horror series called Wolf for BBC1.
Chris has also collaborated extensively with director David Fairhead on feature documentaries including Armstrong, Spitfire, Mission Control and Lancaster, and has been nominated for the Music and Sound Awards for these projects over three consecutive years. He has also scored natural history documentaries for BBC and SKY including most recently Shark with Steve Backshall.
Classically trained as a pianist and string player and a graduate of the Royal College of Music, Chris draws on his background in experimental music, mixing a string/piano-based palette with a web of electronic and instrumental textures, always working tirelessly to build a distinctive sound for each project.
