Shoefiti - CityT error (2023)

CityT error is born from Shoefiti’s joy to reunite after an erratic time. The album sounds like the band having a blast and a new found freedom. Its DNA is multiple and jumps from high-energy songs to an acoustic world. The band is totally unloose: as long as the fuzzes are beautiful, the melodies sparkle and the creative choices are exciting. In the end, Shoefiti delivers a rock that is sinuous, brutal and with high precision, definitely indie and that follows the heritage of the American 90s songwriters.

The last time we heard of Shoefiti was in 2018 with their album Fill The Silence With Your Desires. Following this, the Parisian trio was somewhat discreet even if we saw certain members emancipate themselves on their own with side projects such as À Toi À Moi for example. But enough of the chatter, they are back in great shape with their successor titled CityT error.

And fortunately, Shoefiti has lost none of their verve. This is particularly the case from the start with the libidinous and life-saving "American Girld" with a groove that Gang of Four or DFA Records would not have suspected before launching hostilities with the furious "Rust" and "Chocolat Médaille" on riffs very thunderous as we like!

With CityT error, Shoefiti offers us a range of sounds while remaining fiery. Sometimes sweet ("sLOGANS", "So Simple") sometimes explosive ("Cold Jacket"), the Parisian group makes us see all the colors before playing with our emotions on the most ambitious "Undertaker" and "City Terror". both melodic and noisy. After a more melodic and bittersweet "Clumsy" and "Technicolor Dream", Shoefiti signs a comeback with a flamboyant record ready to conquer the game again.
