John Beltran - Ten Days of Blue (Live at Dekmantel) (2023)

Twenty six years ago John Beltran’s album Ten Days of Blue and its iconic record cover would spring onto the electronic music scene like a bolt of fresh air. It was an organic and emotive new take on the genre and would turn out to be a seminal LP for many IDM fans in the mid 90’s and would go from being an unambitious, lo-fi record to becoming an ambient techno classic.
The album has influenced generations of electronic music producers and fans all while Beltran has continued a successful career producing an eclectic array of soulful offerings throughout the years.
In the summer of 2022 he turned back the clock to revisit and perform that beloved record, LIVE at the Dekmantel Festival in Amsterdam, Holland.
The scene was melancholic and wondrous with a plentitude of anticipation for this never before occasion. John would of course deliver the material with immense class and sonic beauty while keeping the most cherished elements of the songs in the forefront. with the addition of upbeat techno and world rhythms that would move the crowd.

It was a night to remember. Full of love, respect, and harmony with new friends and old.
