“Miniature as a musical form has been an object of interest for composers for centuries. It made it possible to contain concise, but often very personal thoughts. It flourished during the period of Romanticism. Through this form, composers expressed their innermost feelings, dreams, emotions, both the subtlest and the more refined. They created under the inspiration of the passing moment, seduced by its charm, as a poet dazzled by the beauty of the surrounding nature wrote his poem. Some of the miniatures were created for a virtuosic show, in which the composer himself often performed as an instrumentalist. The CD contains the majority of Polish souvenirs and lullabies for violin and piano, which were created over the last two centuries. And although these works are very diverse in terms of formal, emotional and aesthetic, each of them emanates beauty with a different shade of love. The album has an important message: to save from oblivion outstanding Polish works, which unfortunately are too rarely performed, and sometimes completely forgotten” (Sławomir Tomasik).

The album consists of charming, texturally and emotionally diverse souvenirs and lullabies of Juliusz Zarębski, Henryk Wieniawski, Emil Młynarski, Karol Lipiński, Karol Szymanowski, Witold Lutosławski and Paweł Łukaszewski, interpreted by virtuosos of their instruments: Sławomir Tomasik (violin) and Robert Morawski (piano). . Małgorzata and Igor Szymański made the registration.
