Grammy-winning Trumpeter, Composer, and Producer Nabaté Isles follows up his acclaimed 2018 release Eclectic Excursions with his second album - En Motion. Referencing the origins of Jazz as dance music, Isles seeks to bring that bounce that brings joy and movement back to the forefront. Blending 21st century sounds with improvisation, and looking to his influences of the late 20th century - Donald Byrd and The Blackbyrds, Quincy Jones, Tom Browne, Roy Ayers and The Roots - Nabaté promises an upbeat record for all to hear. The lineup is of course, stellar; the core band is Sam Barsh (also the album’s producer), Eric Harland, Kaveh Rastegar, David Gilmore, Rachel Eckroth, and guests include James Francies, Ben Wendel, Victor Provost, Sasha Berliner, Kenny Davis, Mark Williams, Butter, Allakoi Peete, Suphala and Raydar Ellis. Added featured performers are Badia Farha, MuMu Fresh, Kardinal Offishall and the iconic Chuck D. The album is set for worldwide release on January 27, 2023.

Nabaté Isles was born and raised in New York City. His journey has been glorious, representing the fifth generation of Jazz for the preview of the Louis Armstrong Archives before starting high school. He has worked with Christian McBride’s Big Band on three Grammy-winning projects, and performed or recorded with dozens of greats including Yashin Bey, Jeffrey Osborne, Jill Scott, Dianne Reeves, Robert Glasper, Steve Coleman, and Ravi Coltrane. His independent debut was a Top 50 JazzWeek album for multiple weeks, and he has had the honor of performing at The White House (with Christian McBride) for President Barack Obama. He provided private trumpet instruction to the actor Rob Brown for the acclaimed David Simon series Treme. Isles is also a broadcaster and producer in the sports world, creating a podcast featuring Hall of Fame athletes called Whe're They At.
