Eugenio De Rosa graduated at the top of his class at the prestigious St. Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. He had the privilege of being a close student of Guido Agosti and studying composition with Giuseppe Savagnone and Amy Dommel-Dieny in France. In addition to his artistic qualifications, he holds a degree in contemporary literature from the University of Salerno, from which he graduated with honors.
De Rosa began his concert career at a young age, giving recitals and concerts throughout Europe, Japan, America and the Middle East. He interprets both the classical and modern repertoire and has been a guest at many important festivals such as the Sorrento Festival, the Autumn Festival in Como, the Contemporary Music Festival LIM in Madrid, the Festival Cervantino in Mexico, the Bilbao Festival, the New Consonance Festival in Rome, the Città Spettacolo Festival in Benevento, Midsummer Macon in the USA, Ljubliana Festival and the Emilia Romagna Festival.
His passion and musical talent allowed him to focus creatively on both chamber music and piano-orchestra repertoire, resulting in numerous successful collaborations. As a tribute to his success, Eugenio De Rosa was the first Italian artist to be elected to the jury of the prestigious Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in the United States. In addition to his prolific concert activity, his knowledge and enthusiasm led him to assume several institutional roles at music conservatories and theaters throughout Italy. In the early 1990s, his work as artistic director of the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari was widely recognized and appreciated.
In 2002, he was appointed Vice President of the Fondazione Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Sicily, and continued his involvement as an external member of the Board of Directors until 2012. More recently, he founded an annual international music competition for young musicians in Rome called "Premio Annarosa Taddei". Through its innovative format and exciting performances, the event has discovered many young talents and is now celebrating its tenth edition.
