We may be in 2023 and that does not prevent us from starting it with great fanfare. And precisely, it is with Italia 90 that we decide to start hostilities. Coming from Brighton, the quartet offers us a good dose of post-punk, a bit noisy and hard-hitting, which symbolizes this first album called Living Human Treasure.

If the name of the group can recall the Italian World Cup in 1990 which was one of the last sporting events in this matter which was really focused on competition before turning towards the mercantile until the recent Qatar World Cup which speaks for itself , their music remains belligerent and fiery. And for good reason, the group from Brighton sends everything waltzing by putting a certain palpable tension when listening to the very creepy introduction of the name "Cut" before destroying everything in their path with very icy "Leisure Activities" which follows behind.

You understood, the music of Italia 90 and is within everyone's reach. Between sharp and uncontrollable moments (“Competition”, “New Factory”) or moments of curiosity both jumpy and strange (“The MUMSET Mambo”, “Golgotha”), the quartet from Brighton knows how to broaden its musical palette while remaining upright in the boots in known post-punk terrains. One thing is certain, it is that their music as cavernous as it is with “Funny Bones” allows a few moments where we breathe a little with “Does He Dream? and “Tales From Beyond.” The group remains unpredictable until the end with the nervous "Harmony" where we expect a sonic explosion but in reality, they love to play with our senses. And this is perhaps where the charm of Italia 90 lies, where their post-punk, as brutal as it is sharp, will come to mark this beginning of the year.
