Labrador - Hold The Door For Strangers (2023) Hi-Res

So many hectic outings at the start of the year. The latest is called Labrador who has not given any sign of life for so many years now. The band from Philadelphia signs their big comeback with their second album Hold The Door For Strangers.

For this new musical adventure, Labrador offers the services of the renowned Kyle Gilbride at the controls, whom I no longer present. And we left again for a beautiful salvo of absolutely intoxicating electric alt-country with compositions going in this direction such as "State Line To Eagleville" setting the scene before being carried away by tracks smelling full of Americana like “Mexican Beer” and “I Lost My Gun”.

With their well-thought-out arrangements, the Philadelphia quintet remains in its element. Whether it's the sumptuous "Guy With A Job (That Nobody Wants)" or "A Runner's Body", Pat King and his friends manage to transport his audience into their universe strewn with pitfalls. Labrador continues on this path with fully intense “Wear It Like A Badge” before ending on the more intimate and acoustic title track. With Hold The Door For Strangers, the group crosses a new threshold which will allow them to reach another status.
