Review by Scott Yanow
What makes this outing by tenor saxophonist Ricky Ford a bit different than his previous ones is that in addition to the fine trio (pianist Albert Dailey, bassist Ray Drummond and drummer Jimmy Cobb), Larry Coryell is an important voice on the record, playing electric guitar on the first four songs and acoustic 12-string guitar on the remaining four tunes. Ford, a vastly underrated but talented tenorman, contributes six originals (including "Centenarian Waltz" for the 100-year-old Eubie Blake) and does a fine job of interpreting "Goodbye, Pork Pie Hat" by former boss Charles Mingus and the standard "You Don't Know What Love Is." An excellent record, it is recommended both for the contributions of Ford and the surprisingly versatile Coryell.

Tenor Saxophone – Ricky Ford
Electric Guitar, Twelve-String Guitar – Larry Coryell
Bass – Ray Drummond
Drums – Jimmy Cobb
Piano – Albert Dailey
