Sura's set is raw and soft at the same time. From laughter to tears, her tender, intimate melodies & texts are spat straight from the guts. Alone on stage, the audience is witness and choir. Her performance is something between a chosen-family gathering, and a witchy ritual. The music is inspired by singer songwriter folk, different traditional music, jazz and blues, slam poetry, Jewish music & storytelling. Among many, some of her inspirations are Camille, Anita O'day, Bobby Mc Ferrin, Cocorosie, Devendra Banhart, Noname,... .And as Alok, another artist that inspires her a lot, once wrote, through her performance, music & art, she strives to "make hope contagious".
