Creedence Clearwater Revival est un groupe de rock américain formé à El Cerrito, en Californie. Initialement composé du chanteur guitariste et auteur-compositeur John Fogerty, de son frère, le guitariste rythmique Tom Fogerty, du bassiste Stu Cook et du batteur Doug Clifford, le groupe a débuté en 1959 sous le nom de Blue Velvets, puis de Golliwogs, avant de choisir le nom de Creedence Clearwater Revival en 1967. Avec son mélange unique de rock, soul, blues et country, le groupe aura marqué la fin des années 60 et le début de la décennie suivante avec des tubes aujourd’hui gravés dans l’histoire du rock : Have You Ever Seen the Rain?, Born on the Bayou, Proud Mary, Fortunate Son… L’inscription de Creedence Clearwater Revival au Rock and Roll Hall of Fame en 1993 les consacre parmi les groupes américains les plus marquants de tous les temps.
