SELECTION OF RARE CUTS FROM JIMMY PAGE (& FRIENDS) RECORDED DURING THE 1980s. • Following the demise of Led Zeppelin, in the wake of John Bonham’s premature death in 1980, Jimmy Page initially refused to pick up a guitar while grieving for his friend. • Page made a return to the stage at a Jeff Beck show in March 1981 at the Hammersmith Odeon. In 1982, Page collaborated with director Michael Winner to record the Death Wish II soundtrack. Included in this collection are a number of Page’s outtakes, recorded while working on this project. • Jimmy Page next linked up with Roy Harper for the 1984 album Whatever Happened to Jugula? and occasional concerts, performing a predominantly acoustic set at folk festivals under various guises such as the MacGregors and Themselves. Harper and Page also performed in a short programme together in 1987, recorded by the BBC for The Old Grey Whistle Test, during which the pair recorded two of Harper’s songs, plus an interview with the Whistle Test’s Mark Ellen - all while strumming away on a mountain in the lake district. The music and interview recorded this day are also included here. • Finally, Page and Harper performed at Battersea Park in London, England, on 29th July 1984, shortly after the release of the aforementioned Whatever Happened to Jugula album. A number of cuts the pair recorded that day, for live radio broadcast, are also included on this new CD title.
