A long-awaited project by mezzo-soprano Felicitas Brunke finally came true in 2022 with a CD production. As a scholarship holder of the GVl, she has put together a fiery musical program together with a small ensemble of outstanding instrumentalists, Alexander Kozarov on the violin, Vasily Bystroff on the cello and Melania Kluge on the piano. There was supposed to be a CD release concert in the Hemingway Lounge, but the still uncertain situation required it to be postponed to autumn 2022.

Hardly any singer is as rich in nuances and versatile as Felicitas Brunke. Today she is a soloist on the stage of the German Opera on the Rhine, tomorrow she sings chansons and jazz in dimly lit bars, only to present operettas and song recitals again the next day. Vocally, she manages the balancing act perfectly - she switches from classical to pop voice in a flash without any problems. The mezzo-soprano completed her classical vocal training in the field of music theater, with a BA/MA in opera with Prof. Marga Schiml and Prof. Friedemann Röhlig and an MA in song design with Prof. Hartmut Höll and Prof. Mitsuko Shirai, with distinction at the HfM Karlsruhe. Felicitas Brunke is a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menhuin Foundation and the Richard Wagner Association. During her studies, the singer worked as a guest soloist in several opera productions at the Baden State Theater and the Baden-Baden Festival Hall. In addition to independent opera productions, this was followed by engagements at houses such as the Philharmonie Berlin in cooperation with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Kulturkasino Bern and most recently at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf. She was given the opportunity to work with conductors such as Stephan Asbury, Mario Venzago, David Crescenzi, Hans-Christoph Rademann and Sir Simon Rattle. She has also been a guest at the Schwetzingen Festival and the Würzburg Mozart Summer, but also at smaller festivals such as the Salonfestival Karlsruhe, the "Malta International Organ Festival 2020" and the song recital series Wort+Ton by Prof. Markus Hadulla. In addition to classical music, the versatile artist also feels at home in light music and chansons. She found her love for jazz and chanson during her studies through working with the singer Liv Solveig Wagner and the pianist Prof. Daniel Fueter. Numerous performances in the field of jazz to crossover have taken her, in addition to private performances, from Tollhaus Karlsruhe, Hemingway Lounge and Switzerland to the Krasnodar Philharmonic and Russia.
