John Moods - The Great Design (2022) Hi-Res

Remember last year when John Moods intoxicated his audience with his two irresistible EPs, So Nice and So Sweet. The Berlin musician continues on his merry way with his psychedelic lo-fi bedroom-pop which is a hit on his new album entitled The Great Design.

By accentuating these retro influences, John Moods offers us a breath of fresh air with absolutely smooth and gently dreamlike tracks. Right from the start with the 80's ascents of "Anyone" as an opening to the sweet tunes of Peter Gabriel, the Berlin musician transports us to the beyond with his resolutely soulful interpretation, notably on the groovy and acoustic "Such A Thrill". as well as on “Atlantic Station” gently ethereal.

In the middle of instrumental epics transporting us elsewhere like "Awfully Close" and other "Just Playing", John Moods remains in his element. The Great Design radiates throughout with, among other things, the acoustic title track but also with the sublime conclusion named "One Morning" proving that its author manages to break the norm with his music as nostalgic as it is sweet.
