'Between Earth and Sea' is the debut release by Trio Anima – flautist Matthew Featherstone, harpist Anneke Hodnett, and violist Rosalind Ventris. Since its formation in 2006 at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Trio has delighted audiences across the UK and further afield, and been distinguished by awards - including at the 2012 Royal Overseas League Competition.
This recording champions both brand new British music and enduring repertoire: specially commissioned works from Eloise Gynn and Ashley John Long sit alongside music by distinguished composers Sally Beamish and Hilary Tann, a classic from Bax, and the Trio's own re-imaginings of traditional folk songs.
The release of the album will be marked by a recital in Rhosygilwen on Sunday 20 November 2022 as part of the Fishguard & West Wales International Music Festival.
