Baba Richie Blues & The Raags is a swedish band that combine the forces of the blues and indian music.
Baba Richie Blues and The Raags release their first album Varanasi Never Sleeps at Rub-a-Dub Records.
The plate was recorded over four days in Varanasi in India in December 2010 in a small legendary studio whose decorations of skulls previously only heard Indian classical music.
Now got the skulls hear a really raw blues, which also used Indian instruments such as the sitar, harmonium and tabla and they nodded happily and increasingly ecstatic ... Electric guitar and bass guitar was new sounds in the studio, as well as bleeding harmonica.
The music feels like brand new in the world - this is the blues never before allowed!
The band came driving down from the high mountains after playing on Himalayan Blues Festival in Kathmandu in Nepal, where they made a success of this year's invited representatives from Scandinavia. They had earlier accompanied only done a few gigs (among others. A. On Amals Blues Festival as the Nepalese organizers accidentally see and hear on the Internet). Search Baba Richie on youtube, there are also more material with the band.
