Rakesh Chaurasia is a brilliant and innovative exponent of the bansuri, a side-blown bamboo flute originating from the Indian subcontinent. With a powerful imagination and prodigious ability, he has experimented with music across many genres; however, his eclectic performance history is rooted in impeccable training in the classical tradition. His style follows in the footsteps of his iconic Guru and uncle, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, as well as the illustrious lineage of the Maihar gharana.
