All of Brandenburg's last studio recording of Schuricht's long-awaited SACD!
First release in this series. Competition with masters such as Maurice Andre and Holliger. The CD layer is mastering separate from the SACD layer.
The long-awaited reprint of all the songs recorded by Schuricht's last "Brandenburg Concerto"! SACD hybrid version of this masterpiece that was released in 2013 as a planned CD for Tower Records and was not released in the series "Concert Hall Sound Source" We will release it in full. This reprint is since its commercial launch in 1990. Recorded in Zurich in May 1966, this is the last studio recording of Schuricht, who died in January 1967, and is a masterpiece that has long been popular with fans. The previous year, in December 1965, after completing the recording of the Vienna Philharmonic and Bruckner's Symphony No. 3 on the former EMI label, in '66 this recording was vigorous, even if the condition was even worse. The performance, especially with great soloists, seems to have given Schuricht a fulfilling time. The renowned members at the time, such as Maurice André and Heinz Holliger, are still very impressive. It was a valuable record with a master who was 85 at that time. With SACD, their brilliant timbre and dashing Schuricht interpretation, including small stringed instruments, grew even brighter. This Brandenburg Concerto is a Bach performance built with a clear sense of balance unique to Schuricht. It is a feature. The masterpiece has a new charm. It is a permanent storage board. This time, I made a new high-resolution master from the analog master tape of Nippon Columbia. Carefully digitized from analog masters (192kHz / 24bit).
