The great organist Livia Mazzanti proposes, for the first time in her discographic career, the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, recording at the Steinmeyer organ of the Christuskirche in Rome the Canonic Variations BWV 769, one of his greatest masterpieces, and the 6 Schübler Chorales. Since the beginning of her career in the eighties, Livia Manzzanti has played a wide repertoire of organ music, alternating between organ staples and rarely performed compositions. She is currently the artistic director of MUSICOMETA, a festival for famous international soloists that has occurred in Rome yearly since 1995. “Her musical synergy is breathtaking.”
