German singer Franziska Loos presents an impressive debut with "Generation Anything", her first album as a leader. Generation Anything", which will be released on 16.9.2022 on the German label Mons Records, is a collection of seven original songs, five of them composed by Loos herself. The arrangements were co-written by Franziska and saxophonist Vincent Dombrowski. Loos is accompanied on the album by an eight-piece band consisting of a rhythm section with bass, drums and vibraphone as well as a five-piece wind section with two saxophones, two trumpets and trombone.

Stylistically, the album is firmly rooted in the tradition of modern jazz, but channels influences from many genres in a highly creative way, merging them into something original. From a lyrical point of view, there is no doubt that the material on the album contains strong social commentary, but unlike many albums that claim this space, Franziska leaves no unanswered questions in the delivery of her thoughts. The lyrics are dark, poetic, cutting, poignant, direct and yet the message is in no way negative. Regarding the compositions, Franziska explains: "I know that the lyrics are a bit on the 12. I mean, if you look at most standard repertoire, it's about love, birds, flowers and Ladida, but that's not what I wanted to sing about, I sang about that enough in college. I want to talk about things that are relevant today, I know that's not everyone's cup of tea, but that's me."
