Yildiz Ibrahimova: My Bulgarian - Turkish origin naturally guides me to merge the Bulgarian and Turkish /Rumelian, Anadolian/ folklore and their improvised interpretation which throws themin the field of jazz music. Most of the Rumelian Turkish songs I have learned from my grandmother. In them you can find both the influences of the Bulgarian folklore and the richness of the Anadolian melodies as well as my liberty to improvise. I have used the richness of the human voice at its best as well as different vocal techniques while performing the songs on this album.
