Guilherme Arantes - Piano Solos (2011)

This CD, recorded by Guilherme Arantes between 1993 and 1999, is an instrumental containing piano solos, in unpublished themes written by the composer. Previously released in 2000 for licensing to Sony Music, it is now re-mastered with "Manley" processing and re-digitized from the half-inch analog arrays, providing unmatched quality in this new release - now under the seal of the " Coaxo do Sapo ", in commemoration of the 35 years of Guilherme Arantes' career. These themes, basically interpreted in the Steinway piano, in impeccable sonority, have been conditioned with their electronic textures and refer to elements of nature - fire, wind, rain, stream, sea, mountain. In a "standard" rating, it would be considered a "New Age" album. However, unlike the characteristic of this genre, it is not an eminently sensorial music. Harmonic density, the constant presence of counter-melodies and sub-melodic deformations make this "Piano Solos" a little masterpiece, unique in its scope of Brazilian classical romanticism, alternating reflective and meditative climates with concise scores of deep compositional rigor. An unmissable compilation for those who want to unveil a career of many facets, not only successful, but also a lot of mystery and strangeness, whose reach only time can decipher.
