October 2015 finds Motorpsycho the focus of a retrospective exhibition at the Norwegian National Museum of Rock (Rockheim), located in the bands hometown Trondheim. In conjunction with this major look back at more than 25 years of Motorpsychodelia, time is ripe for the first ever Motorpsychodelic anthology, and the band have themselves curated the Supersonic Scientists - A Young Person’s Guide To Motorpsycho 2CD and 2LP editions. Releasing their first ever anthology after 25 very productive years is asking for trouble. There must surely be as many possible track selections as there are fans and we guess the discussions will be many. Roughly containing one song from every ‘normal’ studio album since 1993 as well as a couple of outsiders, this serves as an excellent introduction to newcomers and latecomers, but should also be of great interest to fans. Helge "Deathprod" Sten has remastered all the tracks from the original masters and the non chronological order makes for a very natural flowing and intriguing travel through the Motorpsycho universe. This might even help shed new light on the music and make those of you that know these recordings well evaluate them anew, and perhaps even love them more! If that isn´t enough, an up to date family tree is for the first time made official by being included in both formats. All the songs were written, played, recorded and produced by various Motorpsychos in various combinations with various other people in various studios at various times (see family tree and/or the original releases for details). In addition to the 15 studio albums these songs are picked from, Motorpsycho have released multiple eps, live albums, collaborative albums and done projects that are as important to the band as the ‘proper’ albums this music is taken from. At the same time Falck Forlag will be releasing a book of essays - with the same title - on all things Motorpsychodelic, written by 15 or so psychonauts, journalists, musicians and other notables, each focusing on a song from the album. Not known to rest on their laurels, Motorpsycho already have a brand new studio album in the works, scheduled for release in February 2016.
