"Viajar" (in English: to travel) focuses on the music of Brazil. Musical gems full of joie de vivre take us on an excursion into the diversity of Brazilian music, a melting pot of the most diverse influences, inspired by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Hermeto Pascoal.
European-influenced melodies of the immigrated Portuguese, Spaniards, Britons and French mix with strong, West African rooted rhythms and the influences of North American jazz to create a very unique music. The regional characteristics of Brazilian folklore are extremely varied and exciting due to the size of the country. The four musicians’ program features passionate tangoes, virtuoso choros, dreamy bossa novas and pulsating sambas.
The quartet's arrangements make "...every piece something special, because the combination of instruments produces a very unique sound." (Idsteiner Zeitung) and put together an enchantingly detailed mosaic of music at the interface of classical and world music!
The Cuarteto Mosaico presents chamber music world music with a penchant for details and the special.
Nina Hacker on bass, Uta Wagner on percussion, flute player Britta Roscher and guitarist Rainer Mafra bring together musical treasures from South and Latin America and combine them with European folklore. The quartet's programs are characterized by their own arrangements and adaptations.
Folkloric but also virtuosic, both jazzy and melodic, a little popular music and yet classically demanding. Music at the interface of classic, world music and tango!
