MSG's fourth CD finds them including guest artists and multiple Grammy Award winning producer Cathy Fink.
The addition of a producer and guest artists enabled the band to focus their materiel and expand their sound in ways beyond their normal trio configuration. The band is joined by Phil Wiggins on Harmonica and backing vocals, David Jackson on backing vocals, Sam Gleaves on banjo and backing vocals, Marcy Cochran on viola, Ralph Gordon on bass, and Cathy Fink on backing vocals and rhythm guitar.

M.S.G.’s music embodies the powerful link between the essentials of human experience. The Flood travels through some of life’s most triumphant and most difficult moments: a vision of our hearts and spirits giving strength to survive hard times mixed with a tradition that gives meaning to our best moments. Sharing a decade with the band, I have watched M.S.G. grow individually and collectively. I’ve learned much about connection, community, and the expression of respect for elders while retaining an authentic voice. The Flood presents a mix of new songs rooted in tradition, and new takes on traditional material.
