The fact of associating Stella Mozgawa and prolific is almost a pleonasm. We have seen him accompany many artists and groups from all over the world on drums (Cate Le Bon, Jagwar Ma, Kurt Vile…) while remaining an official member of Warpaint, which published their last album last May. Well, here she is presenting a new musical project called Belief with one of the legends of abstract hip-hop, Boom Bip. Enticing, isn't it?

The two people met in 2010 at a concert and subsequently they collaborated under the Neon Neon project put in a box by the producer. After six long years of hard work, Belief was born where the duo will come to talk about their techno influences worthy of the 1990s and minimal acid-house through these eleven cerebral and hypnotic compositions.

Between acid synths and hard-hitting beats, sometimes analog, sometimes organic, the titles hit the bull's eye whether on "I Want To Be" as an opener but also on the powerful "Bayo" and "Luther". Belief summons ethereal pads and the TB-303 to create an explosive fusion, notably with "Nebo" and "WOT" before breaking all barriers on "Ulu" and "Jung" with influences that Orbital or Underworld would not have denied. After an oppressive synthetic symphony called "Charch", there is no doubt that Stella Mozgawa and Boom Bip possess an incredible chemistry throughout this hypnotic and powerful first album.
