Arriving in the wake of a Beyoncé and Drake-sparked house revival, here’s a reminder of the fact that sound never went away, with ‘Really Real Classics’ counting 10 slinky, vintage examples by those who’ve kept house alive for decades.

The Karizma joints are all deep fire, revolving his stripped down and extended Kaytronik remix of ‘Gypsy Woman’ and the burning swagger of ‘Tech This Out Pt.2’ plus the slow burning Osulande edit of his ‘Hear and Now’, and the Atjazz remix of his absolute doozy ‘Groove A ‘K’ Ordingly’, itself a take on Aril Brikha’s seminal ‘Groove La’ Chord’. There’s also warm disco-house strut from DJ Kemit & Luke Austin’s ‘Intro to Dance’, and the burnished soul drive of Ron Trent’s remix of N’Dambi, alongside Japanese trio Rhythm of Elements’ slinky tribute to Aaron-Carl; sultry deep jazz house by Atjazz; flute-fired fusion vibes by Nayako; and piano-led Afro-Latin jazz bustle from Frankie Valentine.
