Franui - Kreisler-Lieder (2022) Hi-Res

What comes as an album in the colors of danger yellow and traffic red is a tribute to the 100th birthday of Georg Kreisler on July 19, 2022, who was born in Vienna in 1922 and fled with his parents from the National Socialists to the USA in 1938. In the 1950s, as an American citizen, he returned to Europe and, in various places of residence (Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Basel, Salzburg), wrote numerous songs that are still famous today ("Tauben vergiften im Park", "Der Tod, das muss ein Wiener sein"...), which he performed himself in an inimitable way, accompanying himself on the piano.

His work has lost none of its relevance to this day. This is proven by the internationally sought-after Musicbanda Franui from East Tyrol, known for their reinterpretation of the songs of Schubert, Schumann, Brahms or Mahler with an unmistakable sound battery and musical language. For their "new translation" of Kreisler songs, they brought Nikolaus Habjan into the studio. "And the miracle happened: It works, that's how it works." (Eva Menasse).
