Daniel Amaya is a Colombian composer, producer and charanguist with a long professional career. During his career he has recorded 4 studio albums and has held concerts and workshops in various countries. Currently he is recording his solo album where he compiles his most important charango works and collaborates with prominent guest musicians.
He started in music at an early age, inspired by his father who taught him his first songs on the guitar. From that moment on, a tireless passion arose in him to unravel the mysteries behind music and his infinite capacity to express, beginning to compose as a child as a method of experimentation. When he began his professional studies, there were no universities in his country offering programs with an instrumental emphasis on charango. This motivated him to pioneer the opening of this space at the District University and he graduated as the first charanguist with a professional degree in Colombia.
During his earlier years of musical exploration, he was deeply involved in various genres, such as Latin American music, jazz and rock and different musical instruments, such as the electric guitar, the tiple, the charango, the quena and the zampoña, obtaining from there very diverse influences for his music and especially for his personal style in the charango. Daniel finds great inspiration for his works performing concerts in different parts of the world and at the same time he inspire new musicians worldwide.
