The Kinky Fingers - Tomorrow Was Awesome (2022) Hi Res

The Kinky Fingers release their debut LP on Get Loud Recordings, entitled Tomorrow Was Awesome. When asked about the recording process of the band’s newest record, Kinky Fingers vocalist/guitarist Tayler Doyle pauses and chuckles before answering. “It was leisurely. We took our time with it. We had some of the songs mostly finished and they just needed a bit of polish, and others we built from the ground up in the studio. No egos, just four guys in a room making a record.”

It only takes a few seconds of Tomorrow Was Awesome for the laid-back vibe to become apparent. Dig a little deeper, though, and the elements that have made the Denver-based four-piece such an enticing live act quickly start to tumble out. Pulsing Latin grooves mix with reverb-slathered surf guitar motifs, as sweet Philly Soul harmonies float above. Tie it all together with Tay’s keening howl and dunk it in a pint glass of garage rock swagger… you got yourself a new favourite band.
