Poland-based ensemble Reykjanes joins the piano and coffee records family to release their debut album Water Wanderings, to be released on the 13th of May.
Reykjanes is the collective brainchild of pianist Hania Stoszek, guitarist Jan Gałosz, and graphic artist Ola Bylica. Stylistically influenced by minimal, spatial aesthetic elements, the trio explores compositions that fuse jazz with classical, while maintaining strong ambient sensibilities. The visual aspect of the project focuses on the vast slavic wilderness, synthesizing beautiful sceneries with monotypes captured and created by Ola herself.
Their debut album Water Wanderings was recorded and produced by Jerzy Mączyński - one of the most ingenious Polish musicians known from the improvising music scene. The tracks titled Song for K and Congestion also feature Jerzy playing on saxophone.
Altogether, Reykjanes is an introspective audiovisual experience which incorporates motifs of isolation, nature and harmony that will surely hypnotize any listener.
