Westend River Boat Band - Sidewalk Blues (2022) Hi Res

It feels incomplete to write about this record without acknowledging how much the world has changed since our last one. Recorded on December 5 2021 after a few long years when daily life felt unrecognizable, the three of us sought the simple comfort of playing music together on a Sunday afternoon.

With bassist Chris Adriaanse’s magical work with a vintage reel-to-reel tape machine and an old-style microphone under the meandering gaze of the Royal Canadian Legion Hall folks who hosted the space for us at branch 344, we recorded this album with little expectation than the pure joy of doing it. It was a delight to play together again and we hope these recordings bring you some joy too.
