David Aubaile and Julien Tekeyan will reveal their new album "HiMA" on the occasion of its release on April 15, 2022 in digital and May 20, 2022 in physical at Profile-on-air / UVM Distribution / Idol. This new opus will be presented on Wednesday April 13, 2022 on the Hasard Ludique stage (Paris) during a not-to-be-missed launch concert.

HiMA is music with an entirely live "organic" loop between two instruments, between two accomplices, in this case David Aubaile, a magnificent virtuoso of the piano and the flute (here at the piano / keyboards / FX) and Julien Tekeyan (on drums / percussion / looping). HiMA is their escape, a way of expressing and playing immediacy together, of becoming attached to the sole constraint of being curious and improvising as familiars on unknown paths. They start from a word to make a sentence, from a sound to compose a piece, from a rhythm to build others; they distort, loop and re-loop, like a living exploration of sound. So much so that HiMA is rooted here to overflow there, and that jazz improvisation intersects with an energy that is sometimes electro, sometimes contemporary or even pop.

By calling their duo HiMA, from the Armenian “now”, David Aubaile and Julien Tekeyan impose on themselves the vitality of a permanent on-the-spot and deliver us an organic musical expression, made of risk and commitment. HiMA recalls the concept of immediacy in improvised instrumental music.

The idea of ​​this duo is a musical expression with a very open purpose. Where improvisation and virtuosity are often synonymous with jazz, David and Julien want a universal sharing of their music.

One of their titles, for example, is called “the Avengers” in reference to “Bowler Hat and Leather Boots”.

Unlike projects that present pre-produced elements on stage, HiMA is a real-time creative experience that becomes a show in itself. A fraternal and joyful experience for an audience tired of inert performances, and ready to receive the emotional exposure of the two musicians.

Declaration of love for freedom, space, plasticity and pleasure, true musical epicureanism, HiMA can also mix its keyboards, percussions, and loops with other disciplines, and shape a common scenic gesture with dance. , image morphing, painting, sculpting or poetry.

The guest artists on the album (Sandra Nkake, Yan Péchin, Kaabi Kouyate) lent themselves to the game of creative constructive improvisation of coherent and conceptual titles.
