bis - Music for Animations (2020)

On 20.12.20, Last Night From Glasgow is excited to release the archived kid’s tv soundtrack, “Music for Animations”, by legendary Glasgow disco pop band, bis. It will be available worldwide as well as vinyl, CD and digital.

Bis signed to LNFG in 2018, releasing album “Slight Disconnects” (their fourth LP title under discounting reforming as Data Panik). It was met with high praise from loyal fans who long awaited content from their favourite funky Glaswegians. Music for Animations was recorded in 2004 and was called a collection of their “most pop punk tunes ever” by the group themselves.

Although the series only ran for one season, followers excitedly awaited an album containing the songs. The archived set is comprised of short, upbeat and relentlessly entertaining songs to add to their array of critically acclaimed LP’s such as ‘Return to Central’, which will be repressed in 2021.

Each member (Manda Rin, Sci-Fi Steven and John Disco) shines in this album – showing off sharp guitar and bass riffs along with Rin’s rousing vocals.

The trio have appeared with Foo Fighters, Pavement and Gary Numan among other acclaimed acts. The album has a clear story line, outlining humanity’s defense against an alien invasion. Bis have also previously contributed a song to 2002 video game, ‘Jet Set Radio Future’.
