So unique, so interesting and what's better, how profound !
Dialogue between old man's mind and fresh soul !?
As far as I remember, I listened to her Diabelli at Salzburger Festspiele ...
Thanks a lot

@Guest Davo
Thank you for feedback ^.^

Do you say about Diabelli itself or about Uchida's performance ?

About Diabelli,
not so many musical notes a bar !
Long ?
If so, I think it's because of little listening of Diabelli :p
You don't like also Das Wohltemperirte Clavier, Goldberg Variations, Études d'exécution transcendante, Années de pèlerinage, Debussy's Préludes, Iberia, Goyescas, Messiaen, ... ?
How about Piotr Anderszewski ?
Super fantastic storyteller :))

About Uchida,
my 1st impression was that she declined her skill with extended note value but soon I noticed it's wrong !

She played even easy parts in dull rhythm at the beginning but the later, the sharper and more synchronized !
She started on purpose with contrast between Forte and Piano, main melody and countermelody (old man's irritated mind and still pure soul),
then made each aspect to acknowledge
and at last made each other to support,
that is necessary for old people, so are Beethoven and Uchida herself !!

Uchida takes Diabelli as Hegel Philosophy:
These, Antithesis, Synthesis, Aufheben :)
Generally Diabelli depends on whether a Pianist tells a story well or not but Uchida shows us different view of Diabelli and I think she made it !!

One more try to the end :)

By the way you got Rattle's Stravinsky ?
