Bruno De Almeida - Cinema Imaginado (2022)

In a statement, the director explained that the idea for the album "was born in the middle of a pandemic" and was driven by a review of personal files and digitization of "many dozens of cassettes" from the time he was a musician, in the 1980s, on the music circuit ' underground' in New York, where he lived.

The album, jazz, funk and 'spoken word', was recorded throughout 2021 between Lisbon, New Orleans, New York (United States) and Bahia (Brazil), summoning a group of Portuguese and foreign musicians, highlighting the American trumpeter Graham Haynes, with whom Bruno de Almeida has worked for over thirty years.

The official biography mentions that he had an experimental duo with Graham Haynes and played guitar in the avant-garde jazz project Graham Haynes & No Image, and "in a more traditional jazz line", he had a duo with Sérgio Pelágio, participated in the Saheb Sarbib Unit and with -founded in 1982 the jazz-rock quintet Contrabanda.

Known mainly as a director, Bruno de Almeida was born in Paris in 1965 and lived between Lisbon and New York.
