Glitterpaard - Glitterpaard (2022)

In 2016 Philip Bosschaerts (Mintzkov), Johan Verckist (Wardrobe), Sarah Pepels (Portland), Frederik Bastiaensen (Marble Sounds) and Damien Vanderhasselt (Milionaire) united under the name Glitterpaard with the aim of paying tribute to Mark Linkous, alias Sparklehorse, during a tribute evening in the Antwerp Trix. Although this fivesome sounded very convincing, Glitterpaard was put into stables for a long time after that evening. Until last year, out of nowhere, we got the news that it was being taken back from the stable.

This time, however, the band will not be performing Sparklehorse songs, but their own compositions that the five wrote together. In November we received the beautiful single All Rights Reserved and the modest successor Turnstile Youth was also a bull's eye. We had been looking forward to this debut album for a while.

We get ten adventurous songs here that completely blow our socks off. Apparently this magical combination of musicians creates a unique whole. If we have to make a comparison, the songs remind us of dEUS in blood form. It clashes every now and then and it grinds but the songs still sound perfect.
