Czech soprano Hana Blazikova is one of the most exciting voices in the baroque music scene today. Her new solo recording Vienna 1709 focuses on arias from operas and oratorios that were composed in Vienna during the first two decades of the 18th century. It includes works by Fux, Ariosti and Bononcini. Conductor and viol soloist Petr Wagner and Ensemble Tourbillon provide able support for Blazikova and her clear, angelic soprano voice - which is capable of both great virtuosity and delicate sensitivity.
