Round Dance is the first album of Romanian band Marta Popovici & On The Fly, bringing together their love for improvisation and Marta's love for words and storytelling. All of the members' musical influences give birth to a modern jazz sound, infused with soul, trip-hop, nu-jazz, R&B, fusion and electronica.
The album is named after the Round Dance suite, a four-part journey that is a unique endeavour in the contemporary Romanian musical landscape. Round Dance presents the same love story of a couple from 4 different perspectives, each part being another take on the same events. The music and the lyrics constitute the body of this modern narrative, evoking emotions such as calm, serenity, anger, confusion, longing and surrender.
