The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Ernest Ansermet, performs Alexander Borodin's Symphony No. 2, recorded February 1961 [Steppes] and October 1954 [Symphony]. Also included are performances of Mikhail Glinka's Valse-Fantasie, recorded May 1964, and Alexander Glazunov's The Seasons, Op. 67, recorded May 1966. Each performance was recorded at Victoria Hall in Geneva, Switzerland.
The reissue of classical music masterpieces by ESOTERIC has attracted a lot of attention, both for its uncompromising commitment to recreating the original master sound, and for using hybrid Super Audio CD (SACD) technology to improve sound quality.
