Toril Karlengen - Typisk meg (2022) Hi-Res

Toril Karlengen comes from Tyristrand in Ringerike municipality in Viken. Toril writes her own songs in Norwegian in the genre of danceable country. In 2016, she won the Scansat radio summer talent show, since then there have been many gigs alone or with her own band. Toril is bubbly and energetic, but also able to be warm and close. She engages both the heart and the dance floor, so listen or take a swing on the dance floor.

The debut album "Typically me" contains many personal lyrics. Here you get a little insight into the life Toril has lived and the person she is. The title track "Typically Me" is like a humorous autobiography.

As a young man, Toril wanted to bet on beach volleyball. She became the first lady to win the Norwegian Cup 3 years in a row. Not only that, she also reigned supreme. Since her partner lived in the USA, Toril occasionally had to provide a reserve, and this meant that she was left with the highest score alone. Sand volleyball careers meant that Toril has also been to many countries, but as she herself says; "I have mostly only seen sand, airports, hotel rooms and the inside of the eyelid…"

Toril has always loved speed and excitement and lives by Pippi's motto: "I have never tried this before, so I can definitely do it." As soon as she was old enough, Toril took the patch on a motorcycle and bought a brand new R-bike. It went a bit fast at times… .. since it was important to have worn sub-blocks when the season was over. A little too much speed led to a 21-day holiday in Sandefjord where she learned to sew. Toril was also very creative in getting to work for a long time. After this stay, she bought herself a proper sewing and embroidery machine and eventually opened her own shop: Toril's song and sewing. She sewed clothes, repaired clothes, sang at weddings and funerals, and played beach volleyball.
