"45" is the second full length album by Dan Cugnet. It releases March 10th, 2022.
For many, Covid has been a confusing and crushing time where they may have lost something of themselves. Friendships, a loved one, the ability to perform, independence, trust, feelings of safety...or maybe even the spark or the love of making music. In Dan's case, it became the catalyst and outlet to create music again and by doing so, hopefully adding something positive into the world. Let's face it, the world can use every extra bit of positive vibes it can get right now.
This collection of songs is meant to mark the halfway point of a life lived, and capturing some of the elements that make Southeast Saskatchewan such a special and unique place.
The beauty of this part of the world is captured in the changing of the seasons and the way of life that surrounds us. In that, we are always reminded of the passage of time and that we are at the mercy of Mother Nature.
It is also meant as a reminder of how important living in the present is. There is great beauty and joy in this place, triumph and tragedy, love and loss...much to celebrate and laugh about...but also a melancholy as the time go goes by.
There are still wild places out there...and if we listen, they remind us that they are.
