Mark Kendall, established hit songwriter and internationally recognized lead guitarist of the popular multi-platinum, touring rock band Great White, has wrapped-up recording sessions and is releasing his first solo album "Two Point Zero."
The album with radio crossover songs such as "I'm the Man" and "Close to You" showcases Kendall's lead vocal debut in which he exudes a very powerful, convincing and emotional performance. Musicians who sat in on recording sessions were overheard saying, "Kendall's genius as a lead guitarist is matched by his vocal talent...the time is right for Kendall as a stand-alone recording artist."
Kendall says he titled the album "Two Point Zero" because, "At this point in my life I feel physically, spiritually and mentally reborn. As in life itself, 'Two Point Zero' is a journey, not a place." Kendall feels he accomplished his creative goals by producing a memorable first album that "reeks of groove and expressive songwriting." His spellbinding music jumps from grooves ready for the dance floor to songs that put the listener in a trance to tear-provoking ballads.
For his debut solo album, Kendall recruited a band of the best musicians in Southern California for this musical venture. Stan Leisenring, drummer, is a winner of the Buddy Rich Drum-off Contest with a victory over a field of 400-plus drummers. Steve Monreal-a music prodigy who previously toured with Tower of Power for four years, recorded with guitarist Steve Stevens from Billy Idol fame and plays many instruments-added a stellar bass performance to the album. Jane Getz, keyboard player, is noted for playing on countless albums including sessions with John Lennon and for performing live with Jimi Hendrix early in his musical career.
As Mark Kendall's final recording session notes were hit, he sighed, "With my renewed energy for recording and touring, you can expect my music to continue on for many years to come."
