Jakob Wundrack - With Me in Here (2022) Hi-Res

Jakob Wundrack grew up in an unusually musical family with a lot of classical and jazz. His father plays jazz piano, saxophone and flute, and his mother studied classical piano, which consequently became Wundrack's first instrument. Followed by guitar, which his grandma played. Through his grandfather, a trumpeter and composer, he learned to use notation software playfully at the age of nine, and at 12 Wundrack worked his way into the Cubase studio program at home.

The several years of intensive involvement in the renowned Dresden Kreuzchor, which took him on guest tours as far as Japan, was ended by his voice breaking. Jakob Wundrack wrote his first own songs including lyrics at the age of 13. He took up the bass as a third instrument "out of necessity", as well as drum programming. This was followed by school bands, which then led him to the decision to study sound engineering after graduating from high school and to move to Berlin for this purpose. In parallel to his work on his Bachelor's and Master's degrees, Jakob Wundrack has been involved in various productions at the Neukollner Oper and the Volksbuhne Berlin in recent years. Jakob Wundrack is one of those people who use free time artistically. The singer-songwriter from Berlin recorded his debut album for long stretches on his own during the Corona restrictions in 2020
Although it was originally planned as a band production, Wundrack then did not want to wait any longer in view of the uncertain situation and primarily relied on his own talents. These are unusually extensive. In his younger years he learned classical piano and sang in the Dresden Kreuzchor, then came guitar and bass and jazz. In addition, as a studied sound engineer, he has mastered all the finesses of studio technology. At first glance, his versatile talent and pragmatic flexibility may seem typical of Wundrack's generation. It seems rather atypical that the musician, born in August 1997, has created a complete album. With an overarching dramaturgy and tasteful to concise pop songs that sometimes sound atmospheric-deep, sometimes relaxed or swinging-funky. Clever arrangement details bring variety, acoustic instruments as well as variable electric guitars and Wundrack's sovereign, warmly timbred voice provide liveliness.
